English bulldog.

Despite the fact that the bulldogs are short-haired dogs, for the beautiful appearance of their fur and skin special care is needed. Take care of the dog is easily enough. Bulldog is not sweaty dog, though its skin allocates sufficient amount of fat to preserve moisture and impermeability of coat. Therefore, to preserve the natural balance the dog is not recommended to be washed frequently, it is better not to do this more often than once a month, and even less in winter.

And yet, the Bulldogs often and copiously cast the coat, so one must often comb the dog to remove dead hair. The process of combing Bulldogs goes without a comb, it is likely rubbing the dog’s body with special brushes or gloves for scratching. During cold weather one of the baths can be replaced by combing with a special dry shampoo for dogs. You can also use dry shampoo, after returning from a walk, if the dog is too dirty, or just to clear some hard to reach areas where dirt accumulates most. For example, folds often require additional purification as well as the area under the tail.

Special attention is paid to cleaning face, especially in the area around the eyes. To do this, use special lotions for dogs. For additional and frequent eye care you can also use black tea.
Bathing the dog, use water of 35-36 degrees. If the procedure takes place in a slippery bathroom put a rubber mat on the bottom. Even if the dog stands firmly on its feet, it is better to close the ears against ingress of water with a cotton swab dipped in oil. For the Bulldogs any shampoo will suit: special for dogs or common for children and adult, preferably with conditioning. But it is better to avoid odors. For white dogs there is a special whitening shampoo.

After bathing the dog should be carefully wiped with a towel and kept for a long time in a warm place, free from drafts. On the day of bathing it is better to cancel the walk, or at least walk before bath procedure. Once the dog is completely dried out, it is necessary to cut nails and treat pads on the legs with lotion or oil with glycerin. This procedure is especially important during the winter before walking.
